Cisco Routing & Switching Training

Advanced Services Metro Ethernet Switching Deployment Boot Camp (METSI)
rt
Who Should Attend

This course is for individuals who:

Design service provider Metro Ethernet switching network solutions
Implement end-to-end Metro Ethernet switching services
Deploy networks using Metro Ethernet switching services

Prerequisites

  • Cisco IOS Software, routing fundamentals and IP addressing knowledge as covered in Interconnecting Cisco Networking Devices (ICND) course, or equivalent experience. CCNA certification is the preferred source to gain this knowledge (required)
  • Building core networks with Open Shortest Path First (OSPF), Border Gateway Protocol (BGP) and MPLS available through the Advanced Services Network Deployment Mentoring organization, or proficient experience in OSPF, BGP and MPLS (required)

Course Objectives

Metro Ethernet switching solutions allow service providers to offer Layer 2 Ethernet-based services that support point-to-point and multipoint connectivity.
The Metro Ethernet Switching Deployment boot camp is designed to teach attendees how to configure and test seven Metro Ethernet services that make up Ciscos Metro Ethernet Solution Release 3.x. Metro Ethernet architectures, features and network designs will be covered.
In hands-on labs, attendees will build various Layer 2 VPN Ethernet service solutions including Ethernet Relay Service (ERS), Ethernet Wireless Service EWS), Ethernet Multipoint Service (EMS), Ethernet Relay Multipoint Service (ERMS), ERS Access to Multiprotocol Label Switching (MPLS) VPN and Access to ATM Internetworking Service.
